The color I liked when shopping, but could only see in this photo on Joe Spitz' Cars101.com Forester site.

Dark Metallic Gray appears gray on cloudy days.

2008 Subaru Forester LL Bean

"Swiss Army knife of wagons"

I travelled from Louisville to Indianapolis to find a dealer that had an LL Bean with the color I wanted. The car came with the spoiler, splash guards and front and rear bumper guards on the sticker. I installed a tailpipe cover, Curt hitch, moonroof deflector, WeatherTech DigitalFit Floorliners, and a full size spare. At 3500 miles the noisy Yokohama Geolandar tires were sold and quiet Michelin Primary MXV4 tires were installed. The ability to tie Christmas trees and lumber to the hole-less roof rack was provided by Yakima Mighty-Mite clamps with hardware eye bolts. And when the car was 18 months old, the clear rear and side windows were tinted with Wincos high-performance 30% transmission film.

With the 2.5-liter 173-hp motor and 4-speed automatic transmission, the car has averaged about 25 mpg in daily driving and 28 mpg on trips at normal speeds. Two tanks held to 60 mph produced 31 mpg.

And dark gray in low light.

Beige leather interior with wood shifter and steering wheel, and black window sills.
